The Film Company

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Film Company (TFC) is a film production and distribution company based in Seattle, with offices in New York. Rather than promote projects or scripts, The Film Company selects artists to work with, and and provides support necessary to create a feature film, in the format of the artist's choosing, from concept through distribution. In this way The Film Company follows in the footsteps of RKO Studios, which supported Orson Welles in creating Citizen Kane.

To date, The Film Company has produced several feature films and shorts, including Guy Maddin's The Brand Upon the Brain, and Lynn Shelton's We Go Way Back.

The company was founded in 2004 by filmmaker Gregg Lachow. Filmmaker Jamie Hook joined the company as co-president in 2006.
