The Figurehead
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Figurehead" is the fifth song from The Cure's 1982 album, Pornography. According to various interviews, the inspiration came from a small figurehead Robert Smith found while in the abandoned hospital where the band filmed the video for "Charlotte Sometimes".
A slower version of the song was the opening track to the band's 1992 live album, Paris. As with the rest of Pornography, it was featured on the DVD Trilogy.
Most recently, it has been announced that the song will be featured on The Cure's upcoming live DVD featuring performances from 2005.
