[edit] Plot summary
Janie is a normal fifteen year-old girl who recognizes a "missing person" photo as herself, apparently kidnapped from New Jersey when she was three years old. Janie struggles with the concept that her "parents" Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are actually kidnappers, and attempts to find the truth.
On an attempt to find her birth certificate, Janie finds papers with the name of "Hannah." Demanding to discover Hannah's identity, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are left with no choice but to tell Jane the truth about her past.
[edit] Film, TV or theatrical adaptations
In 1995, The Face on the Milk Carton was combined with part of What Janie Found and made into a movie for television, distributed by Fox Family (now ABC Family) and starring Kellie Martin.
