The Epoxies are a Portland, Oregon-based band. Their music is a modern re-invention of new-wave music mixed with punk. The Epoxies' music is synth-heavy and beat-driven. Their lyrics are often a clever amalgamation of romantic sweet nothings and futuristic paranoia. A strong example of this combination is in "We're So Small", a song about the final moments of two lovers as a hydrogen bomb approaches, featuring the lyrics, "Don't you worry baby, it's over in a flash / So hold me in your arms and put your lips to mine / There's nowhere we can run to, and we're running out of time."
In 2002, following the breakout success of their single "Need More Time" they released a self-titled debut album on Seattle's Dirtnap Records. The single once again brought them a large amount of attention when it was included on the 2004 Rock Against Bush compilation. Shortly after the band signed to California based punk label Fat Wreck Chords for the release of their second full length album "Stop The Future" as well as distribution of their self titled album for the European market.
The band spent most of 2005 touring in support of "Stop the Future" including shows with the Undertones, Groovie Ghoulies, and The Lovemakers; full tours with The Aquabats, Phenomenauts, and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes as well as the three month Fat Wreck tour with Against Me!, Soviettes, and Smoke or Fire.
Recently, they made a new-wave themed song for The Sims 2 Open for Business.
Their 2006 tour has just ended, and they are now resting, writing, and recording for their new album. They will be playing shows in and around Portland.
