"The Edge of Forever" is a song by The Dream Academy.
The song was only originally released as a promotional single. However, its most famous use was towards the end in the 1986 film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Unlike other songs from the band that were used in films, "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" (also appears in the film) and "Power to Believe" (used in Planes, Trains & Automobiles), the vocal version was used, whereas the other two songs were both instrumental.
