Phoebe and Paige have to fight a wimpy demon named Stanley who can't seem to use his powers either. Phoebe and Paige meet a demon, Cronyn, and make a deal to get magic back in which no one could bring weapons. But the demon did bring others who brought weapons. Luckily the two made some of their own devices. Piper goes into labor and Victor gets stabbed by Doris, who is really a demon. [edit] Trivia
- The episode title is a reference to the Don McLean song American Pie, from the line in the song that states "The Day the Music Died". This refers to the February 3, 1959 plane crash deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson (aka The Big Bopper).
- The WB used the alternate title Special Delivery in promotional commercials.
- Piper is rushed to the hospital and is told she has a condition called Toxemia.
- Piper gives birth to her first child, Wyatt, 6 weeks early. He isn't named until the end of the episode Baby's First Demon.
- In the season two episode Morality Bites we see that Piper's first and only child is a daughter named Melinda Halliwell. Thus the future shown in that episode became null and void once Wyatt was born instead. (That future was actually null and void the moment Prue died)
- At one point Piper comments on Wyatt's hair being brown, to which Paige said "What did you expect, a blonde?". In later episodes Wyatt does indeed become blonde like his father.
- Wyatt's birth was prophesied by an apothecary, an agent of good magic, two centuries ago. He was born in swaddling orbs as imagined by Leo, that's why the sisters had always wanted home birth, although Piper insisted that she wishes to give birth in a hospital. Wyatt's baby brother, Christopher Perry Halliwell, assumed to be less powerful than his older brother, was born in a hospital with regular doctors who performed a caesarian operation on Piper.
- The Elders and the magical community gave Piper several magical presents, like geese that lay golden eggs and a very powerful Unicorn taken from another dimension (which is not affected by events happening on Earth).
- Victor shows up and declares he has married while on a singles cruise. The episode shows that he appears to have a good relationship with Paige and treats her like his own daughter. When he introduced his demon wife, he told Phoebe and Paige that she's their new stepmother.
- When Phoebe is preparing Pipers room for her sisters arrival Paige orbs in and we notice that she is wearing a shirt with one side sleeveless and the other side with a short sleeve. But only a few seconds later Phoebe and Paige walk down the stairs to greet Piper, but Paiges shirt was turned around and now the side with the sleeve is on the other shoulder.
- When the doctor ask Piper who is her regular doctor, Piper found difficult to explain to the doctor, but actually she forgot that she was always attended by the gypsy Ava Nicolie who is a qualify medical doctor.
- Doris stabbed Victor in his stomach, but when Leo used unicorn horn powder to heal him, the wound was at his back.
- The Northern Lights, the Sabbat, and the aligning of Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn in Gemini are the three signs of the magical birth prophesied by an apothecary: "When three planets burn as one over a sky of dancing light, and magic will rest for a holy day to welcome a twice blessed child."
- While Piper is on bedrest she is seen watching Passions, a soap opera which often centers around themes of witchcraft and the supernatural.
