The Daou

The Daou was a New York-based dance music duo consisting of husband-and-wife Peter and Vanessa Daou. Their solo LP, Head Music, was released in 1992. The single "Surrender Yourself" went to #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. The pair subsequently performed under her name alone, and stopped working together in 2004.
Peter Daou, a nephew of the novelist Erica Jong, is now an avid Democratic activist and has a successful blog called The Daou Report at salon.com.
