The Crown Jewels is a box set by Queen which comprises their first eight studio albums (considered by many to be their finest) in sleeves replicating the original vinyl packaging. A lyric booklet is also included. All the albums have been remastered. It is a good way to collect all of Queen's 1970's 'rock' albums in one place - it is often noted that following 1980 Queen became more of a 'pop' group (in the negative sense of the term) and that as their popularity grew, their imagination and innovation diminished. That the remaining members of Queen agreed to the release of this set points to at least an acknowledgment of (if not an agreement with) this point of view.
