[edit] History

The Conglomerate is a corporate-sponsored DC Comics superhero team, created by Claire Montgomery as competition to the Justice League International, led by her ex-husband Maxwell Lord. The Conglomerate has had three incarnations, the first led by Booster Gold, and including Praxis, Maxi-Man, Echo, Vapor, Reverb and Gypsy. This team initially was hostile towards the JLI (Booster had recently quit the group over his perceived lack of respect from his peers), but the two groups gradually became more friendly. Eventually all the members of this version of the Conglomerate drifted away.

However, the Conglomerate had an upcoming competition with the JLI, and Montgomery quickly recruited an all new team, consisting of Deadeye, Fiero, Frostbite, Elasti-Man, Element Man, Scarab, Slipstream, and Norman the Doorman, interdimensional heroes who later were revealed as villains from Qward and defeated by the Justice League.

[edit] Current Status

The final version of the group was led by the British hero Templar, and featured returning Conglomerate members Echo and Reverb (now Hardline), as well as more established heroes Nuklon and Jesse Quick. The current status of this Conglomerate is unknown, however Jesse Quick is now a member of the JSA, and Nuklon (now Atom Smasher) is allied with Black Adam, making it appear that the team has dissolved.

[edit] Other Corporate Teams

Other corporate superhero teams have been active in the DC Comics universe. The most well known are the Blood Pack, Hero Hotline, Power Company and the Captains of Industry.
