The Comprehensive Compilation of the Names of the Prophet's Companions (Arabic: Al-Istiab fi ma'rifat al-Ashab) is a book written by the prominent Sunni Islamic scholar Ibn Abd-al-Barr, a book prominently used as a reference in Islamic literature, the Ilm ar-Rijal[1].


In it, the author listed every person who met the Prophet even once in his life, even as an infant [2].
