The Citadel is a novel by A. J. Cronin, first published in 1937, turned into a 1938 film, with two 1960 US and another 1983 BBC television adaptations.

Produced by Ken Riddington, it was dramatised by Don Shaw for BBC television, starring:
- Ben Cross as Dr. Andrew Manson
- Clare Higgins as Christine Barlow
- Tenniel Evans as Dr. Page
- Gareth Thomas as Dr. Denny
The program was partly filmed on location in Tredegar, a town where its author A.J. Cronin practised as a doctor prior to writing the novel.
