The Chronicles of Israfel is a progressive, experimental metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is a project that Dominic Cifarelli (former guitar player for Pulse Ultra) has been working on for over a year now. This project was born during a very uncertain and difficult period in his music career leading up to the breakup of Pulse Ultra. Many late night jam sessions with best friend and former Unbind drummer Joey Bastone combined with the constant viewing of violent Japanese anime movies helped form the sound of this sometimes brutal and very dark album. The first part "Starborn, Tome I", follows Israfel, the main character, in his search for a new home and the self discovery of his superior inner design.
Starborn will be released in fall 2006 through Bridge of Hands Entertainment, an independant arts label dedicated to the development and the distribution of original art not limited to music. This project will be the first of 3 expected to be released in the new year along with brother Vincent's debut ambient record "Dream Method" and his solo contemporary piano album "Act 1", both of equal excellence.
