The Body Acoustic is a career retrospective released by Cyndi Lauper in 2005. It consists of ten previously released tracks which have been re-recorded and re-arranged acoustically, as well as two entirely new songs. The album features a variety of special guests, including Sarah McLachlan, Jeff Beck and Vivian Green.

[edit] Miscellanea
- "Shine" was remixed into a dance track for a climactic fifth season episode of the US version of Queer as Folk. Lauper appeared as herself to perform the song at the show's "Babylon" dance club.
- A DualDisc edition of the album was released which contained the entire album in enhanced stereo, four new videos directed by Lauper herself as well as a "Behind The Scenes" featurette on the making of the album.
- CDs originally sold in the US may contain the Sony rootkit.
