"The Beginning" is the first episode of Samurai Jack's first season. It was shown as a feature length episode with "The Samurai Called Jack" and "The First Fight", which was then released as "Samurai Jack: The Premiere Movie". The episode aired on August 29, 2001.

[edit] Synopsis

The episode begins with Aku awakening and stating that he will again wreak terror on the world. We see Jack's family forced to send Jack away with a magical sword to train in many distant lands so that he may return and battle with the evil Aku. When he has grown up Jack returns and battles with Aku, although Aku manages to open a portal that engulfs Jack just before he kills him. Aku states that they will meet again in the future and that Jack will not be so lucky next time.
