The Bear Creek School

The Bear Creek School is a private school in Redmond, Washington that is classical in nature. It is a Christian school, and incorporates God in all of the subjects. The school is currently in a transitional process. The previous head of school and primary founder, Nancy Price, has gone to Africa for mission related work. The interim head is Karen Beman. There are two campuses, one is located on 208th near the Redmond Fire Station and the second, Valley Campus is located near Perrigo Park. The school is K-12, but the Valley Campus extends only through sixth. The school is well known for its academic standings in the region, and performs well in athletics. The sports arena is improving for Bear Creek with the arrival of new coaches, such as Scott Moe and David Miller. Under David Miller Bear creek has placed 7th in state in Cross Country. The varsity cross country team (BCXC) consits of Kyle Dunn, Josh Smith, Briton Bangs, Will Mcahill, Matt McLaughlin, Jason Lin, and Isaac Miller. The school has also set a new record for wins in the Baskeball arena, contending with larger schools. The team recently has attended NBC Team Camp in LaGrande, Oregon, having noticable success there. Bear Creek was also noted for its excellent soccer team, both Boys and Girls. The Boys soccer team recently won the WIAA 2B/1B State Championships, defeating Northwest-Colbert.
One well known teacher at the school is Ron Lynch, a member of the Cascades who played "The Rhythm of the Rain" and many other popular songs in the 60s.
