The Barbarians are Coming is a novel by David Wong Louie. Released in 2001 by Penguin, the novel tells the story of a Chinese American trying to make it in the United States while dealing with her immigrant parents and their desires for their daughter.

The book was released to positive reviews from Publishers Weekly and The Los Angeles Times Book Review.
