The Bangalore Quiz Group

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bangalore Quiz Group (BQG) was formed on 1st September 2004. It conducts both online as well as offline quizzes.

It also conducts quizzes for schools, colleges, and corporations.

The Bangalore Quiz Group has some very unusual but highly educational quizzing formats, such as:

- The Seventh Sense www.the7thsense.org

- The Super Sixer Series (which uses cricketing rules and adapts them to quizzing)

- The Super Sleuth series

- DQji series involving the mascot of the Bangalore Quiz Group (Don Quizzote).

"In the short span of three months, BQG has grabbed 35 per cent of the national quizzing pie and three original high quality quizzes are created and go out every day." reports The Hindu Business Line (Internet Edition) dated Thursday, Jan 06, 2005. [1]

" Contributors from around the world - a CEO in Hong Kong, an Indian software professional in Frankfurt and of course, at home - contributions from one of India's well known quizmasters plus a handful of highly enthusiastic members help create exclusive quizzes that are adored by the members, said Mr Avinash Mudaliar, well-known quiz master and Associate President and Content Consultant.

The basic aim of BQG is the propagation of knowledge. BQG members come from different walks of life - students, doctors, dentists, housewives, business professionals, software professionals and more - a healthy mix of quizzers, non-quizzers, professional quizmasters, and wannabe pros." The Hindu goes on to add.

The Bangalore Quiz Group is based in Bangalore, India.
