The Ballad of Big Al (also known as Allosaurus: A 'Walking with Dinosaurs' Special) is a documentary starring Kate Bartlett and Michael Olmert.

Produced in 2000, this two-part documentary follows the life of a 145 million year old Allosaurus called Big Al. Big Al is said to have "lived fast and died young" because he only lived for six years. The first episode recreates Al's possible life journey, from birth to death, based on fossil evidence from the late Jurassic period in which the dinosaur lived. The second episode covers the science that brought Big Al to life.
The Ballad of Big Al was filmed in Utah and Arizona.
