The Archers (musical group)

The Archers were an American contemporary Christian music group of the 1970s. The group was first comprised of Steve & Tim Archer, Billy Masters and Nancy Short, after the departure of Billy and Nancy in 1977 sister Janice Archer joined.

The Archers' hits include "Stand Up", "It Wouldn't Be Enough", and "Little Flowers". They received the 1980 Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance, Contemporary or Inspirational for The Lord's Prayer by Reba Rambo and Dony McGuire. It was performed on the Grammy Award telecast in 1981. The following year, they again appeared on the Grammy Award telecast and were nominated for a Grammy for their album, Spreadin' Like Wildfire.

[edit] Solo career for Steve

In 1992 After more than 20 years and 15 albums together, the band dissolved. Steve Archer continued a successful solo career that he began in 1982, releasing several solo albums. Steve's 1983 hit "Through His Eyes of Love" was also released as the first ever Christian Music Video.
