[edit] Verna's voluntary discharge

If you have watched the second episode entirely, you will notice that Verna has lost her motivation to stick together with Magna. While Magna might have won the Motel Renovation, and shortly before the Net Worth candidates came back less Brian, Verna opted to resign for personal reasons. This is the first time someone has opted to voluntary discharge from The Apprentice. The Donald took this personally as he wanted to know whether or not the remaining candidates want to quit. They all said No.

[edit] Task Dossier

  • The aim of this task is to promote Nestlé's premium coffee brand, Nescafé Taster's Choice.
  • Each team were issued $75,000 USD Seed Funds to perform the task, with all remains returnable to the Trump Organization by the end of the task.

[edit] Task Outcome

  • Net Worth went with a patriotic theme that was tied to the theme of "choice" They offered both hot and cold drinks to further cement their overall concept. Magna had no overall concept and were decidedly outmanned by Net Worth. The ultimate result was a victory for Net Worth and an exemption for Angie.
  • Michael came into this task with an exemption that he earned for being the winning project manager the previous week. However, virtually all of his teammates agreed that he failed miserably on this task and according to Erin, just "sat back on a golden bed of exemption and did nothing".
  • Once the project was completed and Net Worth declared winner, Magna gathered together sans Michael to discuss a strategy for getting Michael fired. Once in the boardroom, Danny attempted to convince Trump to remove the exemption because Michael's performance was so weak on this task. Trump refused and instructed Danny to choose two people to come back with him into the boardroom. Danny chose Stephanie, and Michael, despite Trump's clear warning he would not remove Michael's exemption. Back in the boardroom, both Danny and Michael attempted to defend themselves. Trump chastised Danny for his poor leadership and Michael for doing a terrible job. Trump also commended Stephanie for getting the events planner, who ultimately came in to salvage the project. Trump said that the project failed because it didn't have an idea. As the project manager, Danny was responsible for this major flaw in the project. Trump then fired Danny.
  • Trump, commenting on Danny's decision to bring Michael back into the boardroom with him, later said that Danny had either a lot of imagination or was someone who wouldn't play by the rules. Although Michael performed poorly throughout the task, Trump would not waive the exemption, despite more freedom for firing candidates in the past 2 seasons. For example, Trump fired Bradford despite his exemption in Season 2 (to be sure, Bradford asked to have his exemption waived) and fired two project managers in front of the entire team.
  • Fired: Danny, for poor leadership and for foolishness in bringing an exempt person (Michael) back in the boardroom. Before giving Danny the axe, The Donald cited that he also has rules to follow, and he would not break any rules when performing the firings. On the cab ride home, Danny played his guitar and sang a blues song lamenting over what happened.
