The aim of this task was to renovate a motel requiring a mandatory review from Yahoo!, one of the key sponsors of the show. Each team was given a seaside motel and $20,000 US Seed Funds (with the remains and receipts returnable to The Trump Organization at the end of the task) to perform the renovation and at the completion of the renovation, guests were to be invited.
The guests will stay at the motels and will be rating the motel from a scale of 1-5 at Yahoo!'s Local website. The team with the highest-rated motel based on Yahoo!'s website will be declared the winner.

Brian seemed to lose control of his team and made several questionable decisions above the wishes of his teammates. He clashed with Kristen, the budget manager. Brian had decided to remove all 14 toilets from the premises. This irked Kristen because it meant that they no longer had enough money to replace the beds. As it turned out, it also meant that the team would have to work around decidedly unprofessional carpets for most the rooms. Brian and Kristen argued once again in the parking lot of the motel, within earshot of guests who had come out to the balcony to see what all the commotion was about. In the van Kristen kept going on and on, and finally Angie had to silence both Brian and Kristen. By the end of the task, Brian's hard headed callousness had driven off his entire team and he was basically working alone. Finally, John chastised Brian and called him a "silly little man".

Verna decided to leave the game the following morning. Previously, she had complained about being mentally and physically exhausted. She wandered off with her suitcase, but wasn't headed in any particular direction. Carolyn caught up with her and convinced her to return. The team had also painted the rooms leaving a horrible 'fresh paint' smell that bothered many guests. Magna, at the instigation of Danny, had an impromptu outside party to which he invited all the motel guests.

Guests were instructed to rate the motel and the customer service they received on a scale of 1 to 5 through Yahoo! Local. The vote was clearly in the favor of Magna, scoring Magna their first win of the season. The comments on the site were that the party at Magna was fun, and the screaming fights at the Net Worth site were a big negative. Magna was given a reward by The Donald, while Net Worth was required to return to the board room for their first poor performance review for the season.

In one of the most shocking moments of Season 3, Brian stunned everyone when, after Trump asked him if he should be fired, he answered in the affirmative. Trump responded by saying "Wow! I've never been in this position before". Nevertheless, Trump continued to grill Brian on the decisions that he made, including yanking the toilets and not having money left over for carpets.

Rather than asking Brian who he wanted back in the boardroom with him and after hearing from an exasperated Net Worth, Trump fired Brian right on the spot for not having a budget, wasting money, being too abrasive, and getting a low score on the Yahoo! site.
Trump wanted Net Worth to get out but not without warning the entire team to get it together.
