For Episode 1, each of the two teams took over a New York City Burger King store to promote a new product called the Steak Whopper. The Steak Whopper is made with Pure Angus Steak Beef. There are six different versions of the Steak Whopper, and each team had to choose one to market to Burger King customers.
In addition to marketing the new Steak Whopper, each team had to run the Burger King location including running the cash registers and cooking the burger. The team that sold the most of their featured Steak Whopper would be the winner.

Magna had a difficult time balancing the duties. Todd, the project manager, did not get trained as a cashier or cook. When it came time help out behind the counter, he was ineffective. Additionally, Magna did not train enough people as cashiers, which created long lines. By the time the Magna customer got to the counter, they weren’t interested in ordering the new Steak Whopper. Danny was in charge of street marketing and spent most of the day walking around and playing his guitar. He also had a “game” where people could throw a ping-pong ball through a hole.
Team Net Worth chose the Western Angus Burger as their Steak Whopper of choice and centered their marketing around a western theme. Additionally, they had a raffle where the winner would win round-trip tickets to Las Vegas. John, Net Worth’s project manager, worked hard on getting the normal Burger King staff pumped up by telling them that none of Net Worth’s members had ever graduated from college. Tana was shown working hard to get the customers to buy the Steak Whopper vs. another sandwich.
In the board room, George announced that Magna sold 139 Steak Whoppers for a total of $553. Net Worth sold 182 Steak Whoppers for $596.96. As the winner, Net Worth was invited to dinner with Trump and Melania Knauss, his fiancé. They dined at the exclusive 21 Club.

The Donald explained why Net Worth held an advantage over them, and it appeared that The Donald learned that Todd never underwent fast-food worker training while other members of Magna did.
While Danny was grilled for his silly marketing (involving walking around the street playing his guitar and having really odd street games), Todd did not undergo fast-food worker training while the others did. The Donald took Todd's poor fast-food management skills into account at the final boardroom, and thus, Todd became the first candidate in the season to be fired.
The viewers knew that Todd had to go because he wasn't managing his team well enough.
