The Allstonians
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Allstonians are a third-wave reggae/ska music group formed in Allston, Massachusetts in 1992. They made three albums, two under the Moon Ska Records label and the latest with Fork In Hand Records. The band has been featured on MTV's The Real World and can be heard often on US college radio. They are influenced by The Skatalites, Laurel Aitken, Madness, The Specials, and The English Beat. As of 2004, they were heard to be working on Secret Love, a cover of a 1954 hit by Doris Day.
Band members are Nigel T. Knucklehead, Darrell 'Dtrain' Morrow, Ken "King K' Knucklehead, Tom 'Buns' Quartulli, Joe 'D'Italia' Pondaco, Kurt "Luke" Wahlstrom, Eric "Hoob" Bridson, Matt Maloney, Steve "!", Evan Ouellette, "Father" David Roy, Jim Zavadoski, Mike Quartulli, Tyler "Tbone" Oulton. The band is notorious for its extremely high number of ex-members, as well as of its love of alcohol mixed with hand lotion.
The Allstonians took some time off but still play the odd gig...and I mean 'odd'! Nigel has been released from prison and has tried to contact his brother, King K. The rest of the band have lifted their temporary restraining order and they can now practise without police escort. They have put their cover of 'Secret Love', inspired by Lord Tanamo's version which was inspired by Doris Day's version, on their eponymous website.
