TheYack is a social networking website that focuses on building a community of authors, publishers, editors, and book lovers. The headquarters is located in Westwood, California, USA, and was founded by Lawrence Ross, a UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television graduate screenwriting student. Users are called Yacksters, and they are able to create YackGroups, YackBlogs, YackChats, and YackVideos. Yacksters are connected via a system that determines how close one is to another user through degrees of friendship. TheYack's official beta launch begins on November 1st, 2006.
