[edit] Ra's Attack Points
In the article it states:
"Note: (1). Whether this effect uses the original or current ATKs and DEFs of the monsters sacrificed is not stated in either the manga or anime of Yu-Gi-Oh!. (2). When Ra is Special Summoned from the Graveyard, since no monster is offered as Tributes, its ATK and DEF = 0."
It uses the current attack of the monsters sacrificed, NOT the original attack. We know this from when Bakura attempts to summon Ra and Marik activates a Magic Card (can't remember the name at this point), the card decreases the attack of the monsters Bakura tributes to 0 and adds lifepoints onto Marik's lifepoints equal to the amount of the collective attack points, and as the monsters tributed has 0 ATK points Ra is then summoned with 0 ATK and then Bakura changes Ra (even though he couldn't changes the battle position of it as he had summoned it that turn) to defence postition. Ra in then tributed in his next turn for the Dark Necrofear (another illegal move as the Necrofear requires no tributes).
If anyone knows the duel and anime episode number that this happened in can they please edit the article.

[edit] Effects
These Effects are completely correct, so it is not worth editing them, unless to clarify.

The only thing you might want to add is the fact that you must say the chant (that's a given) and that you do not need to say the full chant to gain control of Ra, how ever, seeing as how each verse represents each effect, it is required the First, Last, and any of the Middle Three verses be chanted. At this time the controller of Ra will have it's respective effect to use.

[edit] The effects of Ra are not unprovable
(In response to the edits on the article "The Winged Dragon of Ra" saved at 01:03, 17 Jul 2004 by 68.202.179.188)
How can you say Ra has no effects that are proven for sure when you can see them activated in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime? And how can you say that all Ra's effects other than the effect "you sacrifice 3 monsters for the atk. and def. \of Ra" are mythes, when ALL these effects, including the one you mentioned, are NOT printed on the card?
The ONLY way to know all of Ra's effects is by observing how each of them worked during various duels and listening to what Malik and Kaiba said about these effects. What we're trying to do here is just deducing and summarizing them.

I think what he means is that the effects in the real life cards are not known, but they are revealed in the anime and manga. But I could be wrong... WhisperToMe 20:49, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)
You are exactly right. Riddle | Talk 03:05, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Poem
In the regular card game, is it required to recite the poem (you know, the one that starts, "Great beast of the sky please hear my cry") before you play the card? Or is it optional? Also, will the Pharoah have to recite the poem before he summons the WDoR on the current season of the anime?
That's just creepy. But what I want to know is why is the word "yup" at the bottom of the page?
Yugi gain control Ra because of the mellenium Puzzle, And remmember Yami Yugi is the Egyptian King named Athen.
Look. To calculate The Winged dragon of Ra's ATK and DEF points, add the total of the monsters ATK points you sacrificed.
Watch out for fake names such as Helois Ptrosaur or Wind Dragon of Roar
[edit] Phoenix mode
When are you actually able to activate ra's phoenix ability? -unsigned
During your own turn or when Ra is special summoned. --63.65.45.102 19:51, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Slifer's effect
Does slifer effect actually effect the winged dragon of ra? As the article states that Slifer can't, though in an episode which Yugi battles the pharaoh he activates a trap that redirects Slifer's attack against the other two God cards.-unsigned
