[edit] "John-Boy" or "John Boy"?
Both versions of the name currently appear in the article. Does anybody know which is correct? Maybe there's no way to know without seeing an actual script from the series. Failing that, we should make a decision one way or the other and be consistent. Rocinante9 16:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Good question; I do believe that name is spelled without the hyphen, as Mary Ellen and Jim Bob don't have hyphens either.209.226.132.117 20:36, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
I think this article ought to be cleaned up and additional info should be included. This article is fairly short compared to some on other TV series. --Maxl 21:40, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I agree with you; as I wrote in the discussion page below, this article seems more like it was written like a personal fan website rather than an Encyclopedia page. And, it couold use a good dose of expansion.Ohyeh 14:14, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Curt
Technically, Curt isn't killed at Pearl Harbor, he just has amnesia, but, seeing that, as I recall, he only comes back for one episode (or, rather, Mary Ellen tracks him down), probably not worth getting bogged down in it. --Mxg75 06:12, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Boatright College
I have made several corrections in the Trivia section about the similarities between the fictional Boatwright College and the University of Richmond. There never was a real "Boatright College", as was incorrectly stated. Vaoverland 10:24, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Added a Mention of Curt's Amnesia
I put in a little mention about Curt's amnesia. I don't think it will bog the page down, seeing as how I didn't go very deep into the situation and just skimmed it. I hope no one minds that I added that. :-) -WikiFiend90 13:45, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Major Cleanup Needed (and perhaps deletion)
In my opinion, this article needs attention and cleanup real bad. Its style and content makes it seem more like something you'd find on a personal fan website about the Waltons, rather than an encyclopedia page. I propose that this article be flagged for cleanup and wikification. Ohyeh 18:48, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Now I think the article should be flagged for deletion. I tried editing it, but the writing style is so poor that I can't put in anything good without deleting both good and bad entries.ohyeh 22:14, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
I have done a major cleanup of this article. It may need some additional work, but look and see what you think. I have eliminated a lot of the superfluous material and tried to make the article much more concise. Dbart 21:29, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Flag for Deletion, Please
I would like permission (from an administrator) to purge this article thoroughly (and delete it if need be). In my opinion, this article's views switch back and forth, it focuses on too many episodes of no significance from one season, and the writing style is fan-based and scattered (as if it comes from a personal fan website about the Waltons) rather than organized, succinct, classified, and outlined like most of the television articles on Wikipedia. Not only that, but the paragraphs contain more than one subject most of the time, which makes them overly large and annoying to read. I believe this article should be flagged for neutrality and poor writing (or something in that range).ohyeh 13:04, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

- I think a complete deletion as first step would be a mistake. However, if you feel you can tackle it, you can work on a complete re-write, perhaps here on the Talk page, or work on sections progressively if possible. If you aren't the editor to improve it, the flags you propose are definitely the better way to go to address your concerns. I would remind everyone that due to the nature of many contributors, there are many Wikipedia articles which were built piecemeal and can benefit from a look at the big picture and some appropriate reorganization and editing. Let's keep making the articles and WP better! Mark in Historic Triangle of Virginia Vaoverland 14:52, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- THanks! Can you please show me how to get these flags?Ohyeh 19:22, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
