Is that the right link? All I see there is a blank page -- Astrokey44|talk 03:51, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ents

Sorry, but I don't think the recent addition by 210.55.0.195 (edited by Paranoid) about Ents should be in the article. The article is not about LotR criticism, and the addition is unsourced and PoV. Eric119 16:41, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Never knew

I never knew there was a purist edit of The Two Towers, I'd like to watch it. It sounds cool. Morwen 21:01, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bits from the other films

I am wondering does this film include Boromir's death from FOTR and Shelob/Saruman at Isengard from ROTK? And does it end with Frodo getting captured by the orcs: "Frodo was alive, but captured by the enemy"? -- Astrokey44|talk 14:17, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

No, it doesn't include anything from either of the other films. The Purist Edit was released shortly after the theatrical release of The Two Towers (i.e., early 2003), and it was made from a pirated DVD screener, so there are frequent instances of the "this DVD screener is not intended for sale" marquee at the bottom of the screen. While it is definitely worth watching, I think the makers of the Purist Edit could've done a much better job if they had waited until after all the extended editions of the films were released. That way they could've made it like you described, and it would've more closely followed the book. Avalyn 13:30, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
