I fixed up this article a little more, and my apologies for having to delete two paragrahs, but the song certainly isn't about a boy "hearing strange noises from his parents' bedroom". If that section can be rewritten and Wikified, it would prove helpful to the article.
The following text was removed from the article; ideally, it needs to be rewritten less speculatively and added to Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow.
The actual lyric of Papa Oom Mow Mow is simply in the tradition of replacing sexual imagery with nonsense syllables as it tells the story of a boy who hears what to him are strange noises coming from his parent's bedroom and then goes on to say "I hear this sound everywhere I go from the records TV and radio",an element of comedy here as its saying the whole world thinks of just one thing. Its not "in your face" stuff its a more poetic way of describing what some of today's writers make more graphic.
The whole sound of the recording is meant to bring a smile to the face as the bass repeats the title ad infinitum, beginning accapella before the other voices and the band join in and half way it starts up again preceded by another accapella stuttering of "dit dit dit" .Fun stuff not meant to be taken seriously but in a sense its a touch of genius The Trashmen's take could possibly be seen as a song pleading for racial tolerance as it leaves out any sexual connotations, and as a piece of music is closer to the surf genre
