What's your problem???!?!! I said that it was a possibility, not a fact, that the show lost its popularity. Do you think that it's definitely wrong?! Marcus2 22:29, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

I haven't heard anyone but you blame the failure of the movie on a decline in popularity of the show (in fact, I've heard essentially the opposite; Craig McCracken lost interest right at the height of its popularity, which is why it went into hiatus), which is why I removed that claim. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 22:35, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
The height of the popularity of Powerpuff Girls was probably in 2000, two years before the movie was released. And remember, believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Show me your source, if you have any! Marcus2 14:54, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
Well, I'd love to cite not having heard something, but I can hardly cite the absence of a claim. Could you possibly cite a source that it was declining in popularity by 2003? I don't necessarily doubt that it may be true, but it would help if you could cite a reliable source. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:00, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
At the moment, I don't have any sources. However, the truth is axiomatic. As I have heard from my parents, who know I have an obsession with the topic, more like a mental disease of hatred, merchandising for the show went down in the years following 2000. And even after the hiatus ended, the show never recovered from its loss of popularity. As you can see, its merchandising has decreased even further. You yourself said there was a time when Powerpuff Girls was at its peak. And if it was at its peak at one time, its popularity must have declined. Marcus2 22:01, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

This show was NEVER very popular. This is I why I am reverting your edits. I am also doing what Tregoweth had written in his edit. Marcus 22:26, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

I think this discussion is getting needlessly personal. I've gone in and restored the original content, sourcing the story about the three actresses going on strike and changing the line to say that the show was "still rather popular" when the movie came out; this suggests that the show had declined in popularity somewhat, which will hopefully satisfy everyone.Multiverse
