[edit] Why is The Liberal (2004) the same as The Liberal (1822)

I'm just wondering in what sense exactly these two magazines are the same thing. Obviously it's in the interests of the 'recent UK graduates' to associate their venture with the 1822 magazine. But this is a bit spurious, surely?

Ben Ramm, the Editor of the Liberal, responds "All great publications and great minds operate in the shadows of great traditions. But is it arrogant of us to chain ourselves to the ghosts of the 1822 magazine? A little, perhaps. But it's the tradition we have chosen to follow and any good Wikipedia article needs to reflect this tradition. Also, I am generally regarded as part of Britain's new intelectual elite. I don't see the need to hide my intelectual light under a bushel born of false modesty. In short, I am the legitimate heir to the great Romantic poets and, as such, have the right to assume their mantle. In years to come, my name will be spoken with hushed reverance in the great padded halls of Asylums for the Pathalogically Deluded"
