Talk:The Last Hope
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Last Hope is a significant punk band in the Pittsburgh punk scene. They have released several EP's and a full-length album and have toured nationally and played with well-known punk bands such as the Casulaties, the Havoc, and the Briefs, among others, and played at several significant national festivals. - Hello! The reason I flagged the article is because I can't find any reliable sources that would show this band meets the band notability guidelines. If these EP's were released on a major label or significant indie label, however, that would establish notability. Is there anything (for example, press coverage) which would establish this? The Last Hope are refrenced on the wikipedia page "List of christian punk bands", this is the reason I decided to write this article. They are on a compilation with several other notable punk bands sold on interpunk. http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=61294&
They played at the Cornerstone Music Festival on the Underground Stage for the past two years. They have shared the stage with many of the big names in streetpunk, The Havoc, The Casualties, The Briefs, The Scarred, who are all signed bands.
Their merchendise and profesionally pressed, independantly released CD is available at the CD Exchange in Pittsburgh as well as other outlets.
The Last Hope is currently unsigned but have been gaining notoriety recently and has generated a good report in the scene nationwide. I think this article is valid, even thought they are not yet on a major label. Check out www.myspace.com/thelasthope and you'll see that they are not just another garage band, but are in fact significant in the Western PA punk scene, and have been accepted and are gaining notoriety across the country.Mrooke 20:01, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- Is there perhaps a source besides their Myspace page, something showing they meet one of the other WP:BAND guidelines? Seraphimblade 20:45, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

- (to Seraphimblade) a nationwide tour is a notability criterion for bands. (to Mrooke) state that fact in the article =) —EdGl 21:10, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

- Have withdrawn the speedy accordingly. Article still needs sourcing though, I'll see what I can dig up. Seraphimblade 21:19, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

- Hey know what, I've actually heard of this band before (and listened to their music). But that's because I'm into Christian punk. —EdGl 21:35, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
