I've started this article on the Hippos. I will post a link to the article in any discussion forums that still exist. I hope that some people from there, or maybe others on Wikipedia will be able to recall information about the Hippos that I have forgotten, as their home page no longer exists.

Liner Notes Publicly Available? The source of information I've used are the liner notes from each full length release so far. Is that material copyrighted or is it permissible to use portions of it here? How should they be cited?

Does anyone have any rare hippos songs especially the demos they released online at the online listening party for their 3rd album

[edit] Horns essential?

Horns, although common, are not an "essential" element of ska. The main thing that makes something ska is the rhythm.
