[edit] The controversies about building it

This page definitely needs some material on the controversy surrounding the process whereby the Opera House came to be. However, I am incapable of writing it, as I cannot achieve a NPOV on the subject. 82.211.249.10 10:18, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

There are different controversies. First, the whole decision to accept a gift from a private company, offended some politicians. I have no ideas on the proportions of this issue. Then there was the discussion about how the building should be built. The architect had an idea, but Mærsk had the final word, so the architects original idea wasn't implemented fully. There were two significant changes known to the general public: an extra box on the roof and steel on the front instead of just glass. And then there's the discussion about the position: The position is great seen from the Opera, but seen from the marble church it could be better. However, most people will experience it from the Opera side of the water. There may be more issues - as there will always be on large construction projects for public use. Which of these issue issues do you think needs most improvement in the article? User:Dybdahl 09:27, December 25th 2005 (UTC)
I wasn't the one who asked, but having heard about the conflicts between the architect and Mærsk, I agree that it seems significant to mention the matter. In any case, Wikipedia should really have an article on Henning Larsen. Tupsharru 10:43, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
