What is this? And do we want 23 more? RickK 05:29, Jul 17, 2004 (UTC)

  • Is it a famous anime? I don't know. We are not a paper, remember. Also needs checking for copyvio.Secretlondon 05:38, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Whether we're paper or not, I don't think this is the place for episode synopses. At best, there should only be an episode list in the main page. The 160 or so Flintstones episodes don't each have their own article, do they? Delete. --Ardonik 05:52, Jul 17, 2004 (UTC)
    • On the contrary -- the idea that this is a good place for episode synopses is explicity stated (and immediatly agreed to by Jimbo Wales himself) very deep in the Wikipedia strata (see the first paragraphs under no size limits at Wikipedia is not paper. Keep. Jgm 15:11, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • why not have episode synopses isn't this a repository of information? Keep --BioSlayer 06:03, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • If you're the author of the article, say so. But to answer your question:
      1. The article space would be cluttered by episode names for every single TV show, some of which would inevitably conflict.
      2. Synopses are just a tiny step away from reviews, which are inappropriate for the Wikipedia.
Why not be content with an episode list in the main article?--Ardonik 06:51, Jul 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Our new friend BioSlayer is responsible for this article and the "Scrapped Princess" article as well. Look, Bio, the title of this article is clumsy as hell. Why not do a major article on Scrapped Princess with brief plot synopses of each episode within that article? It would be far more useful to anyone researching the series and far more encyclopedic. I'm for expanding the SP article, but also for merging and deleting this one. - Lucky 6.9 06:39, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: Significance. Paper or not, not all facts, not all things, are notable. Wikipedia is not the set of all sets (World::World), and anime, whether the art of our time or not, does not, in my opinion, warrant episode breakouts. Geogre 15:47, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: useless pseudoinformation. WP is not paper, but its resources are limited all the same. Another one for the fan sites. Wile E. Heresiarch 16:49, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Aside from possible problems with copyvio, given that Wiki isn't paper, that's no real need to delete it. It's possible that it might be better if it were merged into a single "Episode Summaries for 'Scrapped Princess' page, but then again, perhaps seperate is better anyway. Anyhow, addressing the issue of whether Wikipedia should tolerate things of this detail, the entire filesize of that article is 2.34 KB (based on copy-pasting it's text into Notepad). Suppose we wanted to fill up an entire 80 GB hard drive with this, we'd have to use up 80*1024*1024 KB = 83,886,080 KB. There'd have to be 35.8 MILLION articles similar in length to this one to even fill up one drive. This kind of thing doesn't constitute a threat to wikipedia's functionality at all. If everything is okay with copyvio, I completely recommend that we keep this article. -SocratesJedi 20:17, 19 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Really smells like copyvio. The article is clumsy and after reading it, I still have no idea what's going on. Delete, recommend that if BioSlayer wants episodes of this anime listed, he condense them into a List of episodes of Scrapped Princess (or similar title). -- Cyrius| 01:54, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • I think we should keep, and add a Naming Convention policy for episodes of TV series, issues of magazines and comics, etc. My basic ideas would be something like
    1. TV Show, one season -- "Scrapped Princess, Episode 3"
    2. TV Show, multiple seasons -- "Scrapped Princess, Season 2" (for the entire season) and "Scrapped Princess, Season 2, Episode 5" (for episodes)
    3. Magazine or Newspaper (by date) -- "New York Times, 18 February 1978"
    4. Comic (by issue) -- "Super Amazing Comics, Issue 3"

That way, if there's an issue of an anime or comic that's particularly controversial or interesting, or a specific piece of newspaper coverage that has historical import, we can separate these things onto their own pages. I mean, if you're trying to write an encyclopedic entry about Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Star Trek or something, you might want separate pages on particularly important episodes. You know, things like "this episode had the first interracial kiss on network television". I also like the idea of Season pages for TV shows. We might not need a page for every episode of every anime ever, but if people want to write them, I don't have any complaints.

I don't know whether it's better to have the numbers of the episodes, with redirects to the names, or the other way around.

I'd be happy to write a draft standard for those sorts of separations of literary works, if people think it would be useful; to be honest, this is my first day contributing, and I'm not sure where to submit it. Creidieki 02:22, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] What is this to?

This seems to be a plot summery to something (Scrapped Princess maybe), but it's not very clear. It either need to be moved and cleaned up to make better since or deleted. --TheFarix (Talk) 13:43, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
