Talk:The Arrogant Sons of Bitches

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article QUESTIONABLY meets WP:MUSIC. I'm going to let it stand for the time being, but I won't argue if people disagree with me... Tom Lillis 07:46, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Never having heard of the band, I will say it seems like a good article to me... The band seems reasonably notable and the article does not read like vanity or promo. It is actively updated... I can't imagine how a discussion of deletion would come into play. --Hansnesse 09:01, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
This is an interestingly detailed article about a relatively obscure band...however I understand that it may be necessary soon to change this article to past tense at least Antimatter 00:55, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discography information

  • I looked on Amazon and Google, and I couldn't find their discography. Does anyone know where we can find it? TheDavesr 05:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
  • They've got it listed after “Releases:” on their MySpace page. They used to have it on their web page, but there's not much there now. Ragdoll 15:30, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
  • You could try interpunk.com as well. 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The State of the Band

Rosenstock and JT have stated numerous times that the band has broken up on their forum. Jeff has moved from New York to Georgia, and the band has publicly said that they have broken up because with Jeff down south, nobody is gonna travel from New York to Georgia to play shows and vice versa. Their merch store even has a shirt that says "ASOB BROKE UP" which JR wore to their CD release show which is one of the last they did. I don't know what other confirmation you're looking for, cause they're obviously gone.

If they've stated it on their forums and you can find these statements and prove that it's them and be able to cite this information in the article then I don't have a problem putting it up. The article currently states that Quote Unquote Records says Jeff is a former member. Little Tiny Fish 12 October 2006
On October 15th, via a MySpace Bulletin, ASOB announced they had played the night before, which continues to call into question the state of the band. [User:Little_Tinyfish|Little Tiny Fish]] 15 October 2006
That bulletin was just a tease - the band that played was really Bomb the Music Industry (both on the band lineup/setlist and in terms of songs played). Rosenstock's projects are crossing unseen boundaries between name and members. ASOB is on an indefinite hiatus, and according to the band will never produce another album. I wouldn't be surprised to see a "one-last-show" or a grand-finale-goodbye, but at this point ASOB Broke Up. PS: I would link to the forum where they say ASOB is dead, but something happeend and all the posts and topics were lost in some form of crash. However, this interview http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=178785 shines insight onto the issue.
