Recorded Live: The 12 Year Old Genius is the third album and first live album by Stevie Wonder on the Tamla (Motown) label. Released in 1963, the album finally gained success for the child prodigy thanks to the famous raucous live version of "Fingertips". Not only did the song reach #1 on the pop and R&B singles chart but the album made history for Wonder when he became the first artist to have a #1 album and single simultaneously after the album reached #1 on the pop albums chart. The album also made Wonder to this day, at thirteen, the youngest artist to have an album go to #1 on the charts eventually selling over a million copies and making Wonder a teen idol.
