[edit] Plot

David Sloan (played by Sasha Mitchell) is the youngest of the Sloan brothers, and the last of a great kickboxing dynasty. Both of his brothers, Kurt and Eric, were renowned fighters who built the Sloan Gym to pass their knowledge on to other students. As the sole survivor among his siblings, David is struggling to keep the family gym in business. Haunted by the tragic deaths of his older brothers in Thailand, David no longer competes in the ring, despite the fact that a single marquee fight could easily save the gym.

With funds inevitably running short, David reluctantly signs on to fight in Justin McKye (Peter Boyle)'s new United Kickboxing Association, an organization known for its excessive brutality and often glorified depiction of the sport. After winning the bout, the purist David promptly denounces the organization and declares his retirement, but not before gaining the notice of one Mr. Sangha (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), the Thai government official who handles Tong Po, the brutal kickboxer whom Kurt Sloan defeated years ago in Thailand.

Initially, Sangha had wanted Tong Po to face Kurt in a rematch. Disgraced over his loss, however, Po shot and killed both Kurt and Eric Sloan, thus depriving him of an opportunity to regain his honor. When Sangha learns about David, he orchestrates a plan to give Tong Po his long-awaited rematch against Kurt's younger sibling. When David is injured in a fire, Kurt's former teacher Xian Chow (Dennis Chan) is brought over from Thailand to help him with his recovery. With Xian's aid, David heals quickly and grows strong as a fighter. When one of his students, Brian Wagner (Vince Murdocco), is killed in an unscheduled match with Tong Po, David accepts the challenge and agrees to meet Po in the fight of his life...
