The Monkees were both an American TV series in the 1960s and a pop-rock group. One of the first multimedia franchises, production of the Monkees series, music, feature film Head and other works involved a virtual Who's Who of American talent, giving many up-and-comers their first high-profile work, and many entertainment veterans a career boost.
