Welcome to Wikipedia

Hello, Thaurisil, and welcome to Wikipedia! Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopaedia in the world. To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has over one million articles! But we still need more! [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:B00004UD9C.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:B00004UD9C.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 15:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the help

Thanks for cleaning up after several of my sloppy linkless tags with no date on them. I'm a little dim sometimes. --Pigman (talk • contribs) 03:06, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Amy Sillman

Hi Thaurisil, Thanks for your kind comments re: the Amy Sillman page. I am the original author of the text, which does appear elsewhere online. I do hold the copyright to the material, but don't own the website on which it appears. Is it possible for this eternal website to verify copyright clearance to Wiki? Is there an email, or online verification page that they can submit to? If you could please let me know would be very helpful. Thanks again for your assistance. --Infoart 12:59, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Thaurisil,

You're awesome! Thanks so much for the help. Will sort out some kind of validation with Wiki via the links you posted. Best, --Infoart 18:48, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
