Tharpa Choling Monastery

The Tharpa Choling Monastery is a Buddhist monastery near Kalimpong in West Bengal, India. Built atop Tirpai Hill in 1937, the monastery belongs to the Gelukpa sect (Yellow Hat) of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery has a collection of rare Buddhist manuscripts and thangkas (images of deities on cloth). It also imparts religious training to young Buddhist monks.
