Thames Valley Tonight is the flagship news programme in the Thames Valley area of southern England. The new Thames Valley news region launched on 4 December 2006, the same day as Thames Valley Tonight. The region was created by a merger between Meridian West and Central South's regional news services. Like all ITV plc regional news programmes, it uses the generic ITV font and idents.
[edit] On Air
Thames Valley Today/Tonight airs on ITV1 Central (South) and ITV1 Meridian (West) seven days a week:
Weekdays
- 11.10 - 11.15 (During This Morning)
- 13.50 - 13.55 (During ITV Lunchtime News)
- 18.00 - 18.30 (Before ITV Evening News)
- 22.50 - 22.55 (During ITV News at 10.30)
Weekends
Thames Valley Today/Tonight also airs regular bulletins throughout the weekend.
Note that during GMTV, the bulletins at approx. 6.35am, 7.05am and 8.05am are branded GMTV News and cover both the Thames Valley area and the rest of the Meridian franchise. Non-news programming is still split between the franchisees meaning that viewers in the north of the Thames Valley still receive Central programming and those in the south receive Meridian.
