To-do list for Thames and Medway Canal: |
edit · history · watch · refresh |
- Dung Wharf, Higham
- find non-© version of diag showing railway on stilts
- ditto Strickland canal-only diag
find orig (Gutenberg) sources of quotes? Not on Gutenberg - Uni of Kent has copy of Orr
decide what goes here, what under Higham? All canal & tunnel here; minor mention and x-ref from Higham.
- tidal differences-> pump, locks?
true dimensions? Gravesham's leaflet on canal [1] give: "26.5 feet (9.6m) wide including the towpath. The tunnel is 2.5 miles (4.5km) long." Used 1826 Strickland diag.
- check hist of roof falls, hole in orchard
- Look up Acts of Parl: 1800,1804 and 1810
* Rationalise metric/imperial (go for imperial as main, as original canal + current boats measured in this?)
