Théophile Nata (born 1947) is a member of the Pan-African Parliament from Benin.

Attended Natitingou Catholic Primary School for four years starting in 1954 and ended in 1960, graduated from the Sainte Jeanne d' Arc de Oudah, Southern Benin after seven years.

Studied French and literature for two years at the Higher Education Centre of Lome, Togo also at Abidjan University, in Côte d'Ivoire and the Sorbonne. Received a Master's Degree which dealt with colonisation and decolonisation in the novels of Aime Cesaire.

Acquired a PhD in Comparative Literature at the Sorbonne in 1976 Obtained a Bachelor's Degree, a Master of Arts and a Post Graduate Diploma from the International Institute of Phonetics, Paris III University. Appointed Associate Professor of French Language, Literature and Linguistics at the National University of Benin in 1976 as well.

Was the co-coordinator of the AGECOOP Project within the Directorate of National Commissions and Councils. Became director of the Asia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in 1978. Was both Ambassador of Benin to Algeria and then Ambassador of Benin to Washington D.C ending his ambassadorial dutoes in 1988.

Was a participant in the historic Conference of all Benin Forces of 1990 was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Benin's transitional government that same year. Made Commander of the National Order of Benin (1991) Appointed Minister of Youth and Sports (1991 - 1993) Founded a political party (1992) Participated in legislative elections and elected Member of Parliament then elected to the Bureau of the National Parliament as the Second Vice Speaker (1995) Appointed Minister of Rural Development (1999) Raised to the rank of High Officer of the National Order of Benin (2000) Appointed Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (2001-2003) Elected member of the Pan - African Parliament (2004
