Terry Nutkins

Terry Nutkins (born May 12, 1946 in Salford, Lancashire) is an English naturalist, television presenter and author.
He is known for his television appearances, notably in the UK children's programmes Animal Magic and The Really Wild Show. Terry became interested in otters at the age of 11 when the naturalist and author Gavin Maxwell contacted the organization Terry belonged to called the Club for Exceptional Young Zoologists (the XYZ club.) Terry left his parents and went to live with Maxwell in the Scottish Highlands where he reared otters. At the age of 15, he lost two fingers to one of these angry otters called Edal. His other famous ocean dweller co-presenter was the sea lion Gemini who later went on to represent the UK in the Eurovision song contest.
Gemini was killed in an unfortunate trafiic accident.
He formerly owned the abbey at Fort Augustus.
In 2004, he appeared on Living TV's reality television show, I'm Famous and Frightened!.
He is married to Erica Powell, a Leeds-based installation artist and telepresence expert and is now living in an otter sanctuary in the Scottish Highlands.
