Terry Barr was a wide receiver in the NFL. For his whole career, he played for the Detroit Lions. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1957 draft. Barr was known for his speed and catching abilities. In his rookie season he played in the 1957 championship game. In that game he intercepted a pass and returned it 19 yards for a Lions score. Currently he ranks eleventh on the Lions all-time receiving list with 227 receptions, 3,810 yards and 35 TD’s. He was selected to two Pro Bowls in his nine-year career.
Barr attended Grand Rapids Central High School and played in the Grand Rapids City League. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame.
