Teresa Halbach (March 22, 1980 – October 31, 2005) was a U.S. photographer from Wisconsin.
Halbach owned and operated Photography by Teresa, was a photographer for Auto Trader magazine, and was a freelance photographer for families and weddings.
Prior to being a professional photographer, Halbach graduated from Hilbert High School and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from UWGB in 2002.
In October 2005, Halbach went missing while taking photographs of automobiles owned by Steven Avery for Auto Trader. Three months later, remains found on the property were identified as Halbach's using DNA evidence. Since then, Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey have been charged with Halbach's murder. The Halbach family held a memorial service for Teresa on November 19, 2005, that was broadcast live by Wisconsin television stations.
