Talk:Terbutaline

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is important to note that the use of Terbutaline as a treatment for premature labor management is an off-label use not approved by the FDA. Several recent studies at Duke University have actually suggested that Terbutaline is a developental neurotoxicant and may cause brain damage to the infant, and lead to significant behavioral and cognitive problems for the child later in life. Edit for yeast infection was deleted? Says it was nonsense because thats only with steroids, but Im quite sure that Bricanyl/Terbutaline does contains small amounts of steroids.

The official SPC in Norway does not mention any other active ingredients than terbutaline itself.
Nor would it make any sense to include steroids in a medication primarily intended for symptomatic use; steroids should be taken at regular intervals for long-term effect. The only combined β2-agonist/corticosteroid I know of, is Symbicort. Zuiram 01:48, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
