Ten Ton Chicken

Ten Ton Chicken is a jam band out of Berkeley, California. Their music blends psychedelia, progressive, funk, and rock. The band has played hundreds of concerts through the western United States.

Ten Ton Chicken formed in 1998. The original lineup featured Rich Dibenedetto on drums, Eric Kampman on keyboard bass, Nick Peck on keyboards, and Gary Morrell on guitar. Eric Kampman left in 2000 and was replaced by Tom Fejes on bass. Also joining at the same time was Jamison Smeltz on saxophone. Nick Peck left soon after the release of Just Like in Old Country. He was replaced by Greg Sankovitch.
In 2006 Ten Ton Chicken has reformed as a four-piece band with Gary Morrell, Jamison Smeltz, Tom Fejes and Rich Dibenedetto. They are currently playing some new compositions in the Bekeley-Oakland-San Francisco area and are looking to publish a new album called "Efitol."
They have released three CDs:
