[edit] Relation to serfdom
On 19 October 2004 User:Mirv added the line: "Tenant farming was common among the serfs of medieval Europe." It is my understanding that tenant farming is quite different from being a serf, as serfs are tied to the land in perpetuity, while tenant farmers are freemen who contract to work the land. I would suggest that this line be removed, or rewritten to express the differences between the two types of agricultural labor. --Bejnar
- no I didn't. my only edit was a plain old revert of a copyright violation; the edit after mine added the text in question. I have no opinion on the matter. —Charles P._(Mirv) 22:34, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

- Okay, I will just correct it. Sorry about the bother. Bejnar 23:12, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mississippi
The addition on April 20th by 71.241.118.50 consists of importation of text from http://mshistory.k12.ms.us/features/feature50/farmers.htm without attribution or apparent permission. Athough it contains some good information, which if abstracted and rewritten, would be appropriate for this article, it is not appropriate in its current form. Therefore, I have deleted it. It is also a possible copyright violation and I have so noted. Bejnar 03:44, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
