Temasek Secondary School (TMS) is an autonomous government, co-educational 'N'/'O'-level preparatory secondary school of the Ministry of Education of Singapore and serves Secondary One through Five. Founded in 1980 in Bedok South Secondary School and had its first class sit for the 'O'-levels in 1983, TMS was located in Bedok, in the eastern part of Singapore before being relocated in the current premises at 600 Upper East Coast Road.

[edit] History

Temasek Secondary School was founded in Bedok South in 1980 with Mr Koh Beng Thiam as their first principal, with the School Uniform, Song and Badge designed or composed by Mrs Mabel Yang, Mr Paul Seow and Mr Arif Zahari respectively. Four pioneer teachers joined twelve classes. TMS was then officially opened by Mr Phua Bah Lee on 21 April 1982.

In March 1999, the school moved to its present location at 600 Upper East Coast Road, before the campus was officially opened in 2000.

[edit] School Song

The school song of Temasek Secondary School was composed in 1980 in the year of its foundation, by Mr Paul with lyrics from Mr Koh . It highlights, very obviously, how the school wishes it's students were. The school motto We Care, "a commitment to all that students undertake", is reflected in the song.

We feel for our family
We strive for our school
We share with our community
We stand by our nation.
For we are Temasekians
For we are Temasekians
For we are Temasekians
And we care.

Our families shall be honoured
Our school shall be proud
Our community shall be one
Our nation shall be free.
For we are Temasekians
For we are Temasekians
For we are Temasekians
And we care.
We are Temasekians
And we care.
And we care.
